OralCare Pre-cancer and Pain Clinic

The OralCare Precancer and Pain Clinic is being developed as a specialized center dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of oral pre-cancerous lesions and cancer-related oral pain.

Key Services:

1. Comprehensive Patient Assessment & Treatment
   • Led by Dr. Anette Vistoso Monreal, a Board-certified Orofacial Pain Specialist and Academic Fellow of the American Academy of Oral Medicine.
2. Clinical Training & Academic Integration
   • Opportunities for rotating advanced certificate residents, DDS/ASPID students, fellows, and distance-learning residents from Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC to gain specialized training.
3. Advanced Diagnostics
   • Use of cutting-edge imaging, lab tests, and surgical biopsies tailored to each patient’s needs.
4. Personalized Therapeutic Plans
   • Custom treatment plans for oncology and pre-cancer patients, including:
     • Education & medication management
     • Home rehabilitation therapy
     • Oral appliances (splints, neurosensory stents, medication carrier stents)
     • Trigger point & TMJ injections
     • Oral mucosal disease management
5. Patient Support & Education
   • Providing educational materials, videos, and apps to empower patients in their treatment decisions.

This specialized clinic aims to improve early detection, patient outcomes, and quality of life while filling a critical gap in oral cancer care and research.
