The Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC’s Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine Distance Learning program is bringing its rigorous academic curriculum to life through an intensive five-day On-Campus Bootcamp, a cornerstone experience that transforms distance learners into clinically ready practitioners. This exclusive bootcamp represents the culminating hands-on chapter of a world-class graduate dental education.
Under the leadership of Program Director Dr. Anette Vistoso Monreal, DDS, MS, DABOP, Director of Distance Learning Programs, Director of the Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine Program, students work in small groups under personalized faculty instruction from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day. The curriculum integrates live clinical rotations, injection technique training, OSCE competency assessments, and a telehealth module into a seamlessly structured week of intensive learning.
This exclusive bootcamp draws on an expert interprofessional faculty team in Orofacial Pain, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, and Radiology, combining cutting-edge clinical simulations with interactive case discussions and real patient exposure at the Orofacial and Oral Medicine Center. Assessment techniques include rigorous OSCEs, complex case-based examinations, and clinical Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) that ensure every participant meets the highest standard of clinical competency.
