Title: Injection Therapy in Orofacial Pain: Part 2

Content: Dr. Clark’s presentation examines the efficacy of Botulinum Toxin Type A injections for orofacial pain conditions, finding it effective for oromandibular dystonia but less so for sleep bruxism and muscle hypertonicity, while comparing alternative treatment approaches.

Learning Objectives:

1. Evaluate the efficacy of Botulinum Toxin Type A (BoTN-A) injections across various orofacial pain conditions, particularly dystonia, sleep bruxism, and muscle hypertonicity.

2. Differentiate between the physiological mechanisms underlying sleep bruxism events and how they impact treatment selection and outcomes.

3. Compare the cost-effectiveness of various treatment modalities for muscle hypertonicity, including BoTN-A injections, meditation, stretching exercises, medication, and repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.
