The Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry’s Geriatric Dentistry residency experience is an extraordinary five-day Knowledge and Activity Assessment Bootcamp that develops clinical competency through intensive virtual and real-world training. This exclusive bootcamp serves as the cornerstone experience for program participants, combining cutting-edge simulations and interactive discussions overseen by an expert interprofessional faculty team from Geriatric Dentistry, Oral Facial Pain, Oral Medicine, Removable Prothodontics, Social Work and Dental Public Health.
Assessment techniques include rigorous OSCEs, complex case-based examinations, and clinical Entrustable Professional Activities (EPA). This intensive experience covers everything from aging physiology and medication management to specialized treatment modifications, ensuring graduates emerge with the sophisticated skill set that defines excellence in geriatric dental care.
