Title: Oral Health Management for Cancer Patients: Prevention, Complications, and Treatment

Dr. Vistoso’s lecture will provide comprehensive guidance on managing oral health complications in cancer patients, emphasizing multidisciplinary care approaches before, during, and after cancer treatments.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify common oral complications that occur during and after cancer therapy, including xerostomia, mucositis, infections, and potentially malignant disorders.
2. Describe appropriate management strategies for oral health issues related to cancer treatment, including timing of dental interventions and medication options.
3. Understand the importance of multidisciplinary care and ongoing oral health monitoring for improved quality of life in cancer patients.
Upon successfully completing the course, 1 hour of free continuing education credit will be provided.

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Vistoso Monreal received her DDS from Universidad de Chile, an Advanced Program Certificate in Prosthodontics from Universidad del Desarrollo, earned a Master of Science degree in Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine with an Advanced Program Certificate in Orofacial Pain from USC, and took part in an additional Advanced Clinical Training in Oral Medicine at UCSF. She is an Orofacial Pain Board-Certified specialist and Assistant Professor of Clinical Dentistry at the Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine Center, Director of Distance Learning Programs and Co-Director of the Pain Medicine Porgrams at the University of Southern California.
Her research is focused on precision orofacial sciences with the application of Artificial intelligence in the subdisciplines of orofacial pain and oral medicine.
