Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA) is an international organization of oral health care professionals dedicated to serving and promoting the oral health care needs of underserved populations, including medically complex patients, special needs, and older adult populations. SCDA brings together providers from the American Association of Hospital Dentists (AAHD), the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities (ADPD), and American Society for Geriatric Dentistry (ASGD).
In April 2024, SCDA organized its annual virtual summit. During the summit, two of our faculty members, Dr. Lisa Hou and Dr. Raymond Choi, presented on fall prevention for older adults in dental offices. At the same summit, Enas Rostom, one of our residents, presented a case report.
