Virtual Patient Game

The Virtual Patient Game challenges students with interactive simulations of real-life scenarios for clinical training.

How to Play

01 — Patient Information
Players review the patient’s medical history, symptoms, and in some cases imaging. Players must open each tab to earn the first 3 points (1 point per tab).
02 — Patient Interview
Next, players perform a medical interview and a clinical examination to collect additional information by selecting questions from a provided inventory.

Players are awarded points when they select questions that provide useful information to solve the case, and lose points when questions that do not provide useful information stay open. Only keep the helpful questions open.

03 — Diagnosis and Treatment

Players will make decisions in four areas:

    • Diagnostic Tests*
    • Diagnosis
    • Treatment Plan
    • Prescriptions

Players select up to 4 choices in each area, and will be awarded points if they are appropriate for the case. If the case can be resolved without medication, players may decide not to select an option in the “Prescriptions” tab.
